Shay and new mom
Shay

Update 05/31/12: Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wanted to let you know that my mommy took me to the vet today. They took my temp, which I didn't like but it was fine. I weigh 6 lbs and 9 oz. The vet said that was perfect. I am in good shape except i have hook worms again. That is what is messing up my tummy. They gave me a pill and now I will take one every month to keep all of those bad worms away.

I had my toe nails cut which I did not like. but I made it through. I just had to yap and cry a little. but now I don't make noise on the floor when I walk. My lungs sound good. I only cough once or twice a day. The girls in the vet office just loved me and my pretty face and of course my cute ears.

My mommy and I are very happy. sometimes I even sleep with her. I miss you all but I'm happy with my new home. I fit right in like I've been here for ever. Thank you for all the help you gave me. Love, Shay

Initial Post: Good morning, Shazie is doing great. We had a wonderful ride home. She laid on her pillow between the seats and we didn't even know she was there. When we stopped she took her potty break and was ready to get back in the car.

She has adjusted to her new home here. She lets me know when she need to go out. and she loves to lay in the grass in the sun. She sleeps by my bed on her pillow or in the bed with me.

Her stools are perfect now. we just had that one day and I think she was just upset. She eats good and is ready when it's meal time.

She has become quite vocal. Right now she is barking at the birds outside the screen door.

I want to thank you for all you did for her. She is such a blessing to me and our family. I took her to visit my mother yesterday. She is 88 and still lives alone but has no pets and she really enjoyed her.

I will keep you informed about her. We are going to the vet next week and I will let you know her report.

Have a great weekend and God bless you. Ruthann

Jazzy went to her new home today. She loved the couple from the first second she met them.

They spent some time here and she left with her tail a waggin and never looked back.

I think she will have a very happy life.

Mojito and new family
Mojito

Yo, it's me, Mojito! I thought you would enjoy a picture of me with my new Daddy and Mommy. We're learning all about each other and they tell me that I'm the most beautiful boy they've ever seen! I think it must be true because they give me lots of hugs and kisses every day. I've had alot of new adventures already with my new family. Daddy takes me for car rides every day, and I got a new bed and toys too!!! I think I'm a super lucky kid because my Foster Mom, Jen, found such a great family for me, but Mommy told me that the truth is, I really rescued them. That makes me feel real special. Well, I've got to go now, Daddy said dinner is ready and I'm a hungry kid! Bye everyone,

Love Mojito!!!!!!!

A little note from Daddy & Mommy: This special little boy has brought so much joy and laughter to our home in just a few days, it's hard to imagine that we ever lived without him. He is perhaps the sweetest and most gentle dog we have ever known. To say that we are over the moon about him, would be an understatement. We will do everything to show him our love, commitment and loyalty, every day of his life as Mojito is truly a blessing. Thank you for choosing us to be his full time parents. We are and will be eternally grateful. With warm regards, Pete & Valerie

Quigley

Please meet Quigley's new Mommy and Grandmother! Dad had to work but Mom and Grandmother took me by there so Dad could see me. Everybody loves me. Then we all headed to my new forever home and a wonderful surprise.....two more yorkies....I have siblings! There are toys to play with too. I've already jumped on Grandmothers bed twice. Mom bought me my favorite chewies. And she even gave my foster mom some wonderfully smelling lotions and soap, wasn't that nice? I am a happy boy!

Cody
Cody

Back on February 14th a friend of ours sent us a picture of a Chihuahua 7 week old puppy. It was a dreary day and I inquired. Long story short of that I didn't get the puppy. I then did a search on Petfinder.com for a young, small, and male dog. Little Heart Thumper showed up. I read his story and then Steve read his story and saw his pictures. I then completed the application and then waited. Steve and I did a lot of talking since we already had 3 dogs and 3 cats. We so wanted a play mate for our Mondale. Well Heart Thumper came over with Rene for a Home Check and that Saturday we were blessed with Heart Thumper who we now call Cody. The first few days were a bit rough. Mondale and Ginger we're being very mean to Cody and we didn't like that at all. I took Cody to our vet the Tuesday after we got him. Out vet gave him a clean bill of health and said he was anxious to see Cody's progress with regards to his back legs. Dr. Bracken did not charge us for the visit and asked if I would bring Cody back every two months so he could monitor his progress, at no charge. When Cody and I got back from the appointment we all sat on the couch. Steve, myself, Ginger, Mondale, Cody, and Roy. I said LISTEN UP, Cody is a part of this family and you all better make him feel at home! Since that moment everything has been fabulous. Mondale and Cody play A LOT. We go to the Dog Park and Cody loves it and everyone loves Cody. His little knees are bending a little and with each day of exercise, playing, and physical therapy Cody's back legs are getting better. We all LOVE him and he is a part of our wonderful family.

Chevy and new dad
Chevy

Chevy has been adopted, and he is living large in The Villages. He and his new dad bonded quickly. Have a happy life, Chevy! Below is what Chevy's new dad said about his new little buddy:

Yes, Chevy is "loving life", thinks the yard is great and "loves his walks"..... He is already the "proud owner of a house in The Villages" but is not only loving --- he is generous in allowing me to reside with him! It has been raining since we've been together, so he hasn't had his first golf cart ride but is ready and waiting as am I. He's so loving and also a great "watchdog",says he had formal training, but just didn't put is on his resume. He's the best listener ever and I believe he will be people-talking soon. If you're lonely and want to love and be loved - Rescue one of these little people, you'll never regret it! From Pee-pee/Poop to everything else, he is the greatest and has "made me so happy". I can only hope I do the same for him.

Truly & Sincerely, Bruce & Chevy

Dandi & new family
Dandi Valentino

Dandi landed himself into a wonderful huge home on a huge lake where he will be the only doggie in the house with a retired couple who will dote on him 24/7. He will get to travel 5-6 months in a humongous RV all over the country - what a great life for a little unwanted, neglected dog, huh? He's happy now!

Breanna and new mom
Breanna

Breanna came into UYR from a backyard breeder; even though she was 2-1/2 years old, she was experiencing being a puppy for the first time in her life. Yeah! Breanna was a very popular girlie, and here's what her new mom had to say about how they are doing now:

Breanna's new name is Abigail but I call her Abby. She & I have totally bonded, she follows me everywhere and loves to get (and give) kisses :). We have had a few minor issues with chewing, potty training and fear of stairs but we are working on them and I am confident that with time she will get over them. She has brought so much joy & love into my life, thank you and United Yorkie Rescue for all that you do.
