Louie
California
Louie CA

Meet Louie, a handsome 6-8 year old, 12 pound Norwich Terrier boy being fostered in Laguna Hills, CA. Only Southern CA applicants will be considered.

Initial Bio 5/9/24: The force was with me on May the Fourth, when I was able to leave the shelter. My foster mom thinks I look a little like Chewbacca! But my name is Louie and I am a happy, young and newly neutered boy. I love toys, soft, squishy and squeaky ones. I can pounce and throw them around them all day. I do love a good walk in the neighborhood on my leash and harness and my foster mom has even convinced me to sit for a treat. I am still decompressing and I am leery of any quick hand movements by my face. I am working on my reflexes and trying to kiss instead of snip. I am going to the groomer tomorrow for my new do and the dogtor on Saturday for my wellness check! I will keep you posted

To date we've spent $0 on Louie CA's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $0 in donations.

Ena

Sweet Girl
Florida
Ena

Ena is 5 years old and 3lbs. She is being fostered in Stuart FL. Out of state applications will not be accepted.

THANK YOU TO ENA'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandra Brentlinger, Wendy Fuhrmaneck, Wendy Fuhrmaneck, Yvonne Meneghin, Cindy McKimm, Lois Forehand, Veronica Gonzales, Yigit Gergin, Nestor Sanchez, Melanie Newton, Dan Clauser, Alex LeBlanc, Terrence Wesolek, Don O'Brien, Barbara Burgess, Ellen Chokreff, Elba Short, Diane Marvin, Patricia Brown, Mary Corbin

THANK YOU TO ENA'S FACEBOOK DONORS!

Karry Rogers, Ula Fronczyk, Robin Nyberg

Updated bio 4/10/24: We are so happy to report that Ena is making great progress! She was seen by a skin specialist yesterday who determined that little Ena has environmental skin allergies. Our regular vet previously ruled out thyroid and Cushings disease. Her allergies have caused hair loss, bacterial infection, and inflamed skin. After a change in her environment over a month ago, Ena began to feel better, displaying much less scratching and paw-licking. We have even seen significant hair growth on her back, all the way down to her tiny tail!

Ena is now being treated with an inexpensive drug called Atopica that she will receive once a day in her food. We are going to monitor her to make sure she tolerates it well. She also received a second Convenia injection to treat the bacterial infection. It is likely she will not need additional injections. Her treatment includes weekly baths with a prescription shampoo. It smells really nice and Ena feels so good afterwards!

Ena will do best in a home where there is not too much excitement. She is still somewhat timid in nature but judging from her play behavior, we think over time she will become more trusting and less timid.

Many positive changes have occurred since Ena came into the UYR family: She is eating a healthy gravy-based food that she loves, her hydration and urination are now normal, her skin temperature is normalizing, and she smells so much better! She is walking on a leash and making progress with her potty manners. She is a playful, happy girl waiting for a new family that will revel in her progress and patiently help her continue on the path to wellness. We would love to see Ena in a home where there is an awareness about allergens, and where she will have hours of human companionship every day. Also, a big plus for Ena would be to have a little buddy as she loves other small dogs, male or female.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Enas donors, and to everyone following her story. We are certain she is going to have a wonderful life!

Updated bio 3/22/24:

Hey everyone, guess what I had my dental. I only lost 8 teeth. Foster Mommy has been giving me soft food and I love love love it. Im hoping that she lets me eat this forever. I love my foster brother. He makes me feel so brave when we go outside for a walk. Foster mom likes to dress me up. See the pretty necklace she gave me. She tells me all the time how beautiful I am.

My Cushing tests have come back negative. But we still dont know whats wrong!

Updated Bio 3/12/24: Hi everybody, Im hanging out in my foster moms house. Its great here. She dresses me in pretty clothes to help keep my naked body warm. Can you believe someone thought I was a Chinese crested? Nope, Im pure Yorkie. Just have this pesky skin issue. My blood work looked pretty good - no thyroid issues. Good enough to have a dental. But darn it all we still dont know the problem. So its more tests for me. Can you spare a little dollars to help me with more tests? Thanks Yorkie kisses Ena!

Initial Bio 3/3/24: Ena has joined the UYR family today. Her whole life has changed. Her dad died and her mom couldnt afford to find out what was wrong with her. Ena hasnt been to a vet in over 2 years. A good friend posted her story on Facebook and UYR was able to help Ena out. Stay with us as we start the journey to return Ena to good health. If you would like to be a part of her new life, donations would be appreciated.

To date we've spent $1816.75 on Ena's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $1280 in donations.

Florida
Florida Rosie

Florida Rosie is an 14 year old 5 pound yorkie girl who is being fostered near Palm Coast, Florida. No out of state applications will be considered.

<THANK YOU TO FL ROSIE'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Wendy Fuhrmaneck, Tara Pellegrino, Pam Roberts

Updated Bio 5/13/24: Imagine our surprised when we found Florida Rosie had a microchip. According to her microchip she is 14years old, not the 11 years old we were told. But don’t let her age fool you. Foster mom says she acts a lot younger than 14. She loves to snuggle in your lap. Her appointment with the eye specialist is later this month. More updates coming on this precious nugget

Updated Bio 5/1/24: Hi everyone, its Florida Rosie. I just wanted to let you know what's going on with me.

I have an appt to see the Doggie Eye specialist this month! I'm really hopeful he can help me. I had cataract surgery last year but it didn't work. We aren't sure how much I can see so I'm wearing muffins halo. It helps protect me from walking into things that can hurt me. The eye Doctor won't be cheap, do you think you can help me?

I've seen the regular doggie doctor. I'm up to date on my vaccines, heartworm negative, and I need a dental. Can you believe it? I'm too skinny. I thought a girl couldn't be too skinny. Was I wrong. Foster mom is giving me 3 meals a day.

Foster mom says I'm the sweetest little girl, I get along with everyone and every dog. I'm pretty much housetrained, walk well on a leash and love car rides.

Updated Bio 4/16/24: Hi my name is Florida Rosie or as foster Mom calls me Rosie Girl. I just arrived to my foster Moms house in Palm Coast yesterday and boy what a trip!! My owner unfortunate got ill and was no longer able to care for me so now I'll be staying with my new foster family until I'm checked out and ready for my new furever home. Till then: Stay tuned for more information to come very soon!!!

Initial Bio 04/15/2024: Meet sweet Florida Rosie. She has just come into rescue after her mother was not able to care for her. We can not wait to see her personality when she gets all the settled into her new foster home. Stay tuned for updates!

I love my ball!

Aren't I too cute!
Florida
Jolene

Jolene is an 7 year old 5.5 pound yorkie girl who is being fostered near Leesburg, Florida. No out of state applications will be considered.

Updated Bio 5/13/24: Hello everyone, just a quick update from me, Jolene, or Jo as my foster family calls me. I've completed my vetting and I'm ready to find my forever home. I should mention that I'm still working on my housetraining, so a home with tile floors rather than carpets would be ideal. My foster dad says that what's considered housebroken in his house might not be the same in yours, so we'll need to learn the schedule together.

Despite being 7 years old, no one believes my age because I absolutely love to play and stay active. I'm not really into cuddling since I'm always on the move with my red ball. I'm very well socialized and get along great with dogs and women. It does take me a while to warm up to men, though.

My perfect home would have another little companion for me to play with and a fenced yard where I can chase squirrels and birds. Could your house be the one for me?

Initial Bio 04/26/2024: Meet sweet little Jolene. She has just come into rescue after her mother was not able to care for her. We can not wait to see her personality when she gets all the settled into her new foster home. Stay tuned for updates!

To date we've spent $237.5 on Jolene's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $0 in donations.

I'm Handsome!
Florida
Rudy

Rudy is a 7 year old 12 pound yorkie boy who is being fostered near Riverview, Florida. No out of state applications will be considered.

THANK YOU TO RUDY'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Diane Marvin, Wendy Fuhrmaneck, DeAnn Deutsch, Nestor Sanchez, Linda and Bob Meskis, Bret Park, Debra Frare, Stephanie Slack, Wendy Fuhrmaneck, Ellen Chokreff, Barbara Burgess, Megan Reiland, Lauren Satterfield, Angie Cagle, DeAnn Deutsch, Mary Russo, Wendy Fuhrmaneck, Joanne Vogel, Mary Corbin, Greg Shoewalter with thoughts and prayers

Bio update 4/23/24: Rudy continues to do well in his foster home. His kidney values remain about the same, and he continues to receive weekly IV fluids. He will have a follow-up appointment with the vet in the next week or so. He is still on prescription renal support wet food. He had his first spa day recently and looked so handsome in his bow tie. He is quite squirmy when getting a haircut, but the groomer did a great job.

Rudy is a velcro dog and does not like to be left alone. He loves chewing on hard toys and going for speed walks. The best home for Rudy would be a detached single family home due to his barking. He has gotten better, but is still very vocal. Rudy is terrified of the vacuum cleaner and the hair dryer. He is also a sock stealer. Rudy likes to be carried around like a baby on his foster mom and dad's shoulders. He is a spoiled dog for sure! He met some new people this week and was the perfect gentleman! He continues to bark at other dogs when on walks.

This past week, his foster mom thought he seemed 'off' and not his normal self. The vet thought it was musculoskeletal related, and he was put on a few days of pain meds. He quickly perked back up the following day and is doing much better. He has been on strict orders from the vet to 'take it easy'.

Bio update 3/17/24: Rudy is a 7 year old Yorkie weighing 12 pounds. The vet rechecked his bloodwork and unfortunately his kidney values did not improve as much as we hoped they would. While he continues getting a shot of fluids once a week and staying on a renal diet, the vet will recheck his bloodwork again the beginning of May. Once stabilized, he will need a dental.

Rudy has been doing really well with his potty training and his barking. He only occasionally has accidents inside. He loves to cuddle up in his foster mom's lap while she is working. While he loves being a lap dog, he also likes to play with hard toys. He loves being outside and going on walks, but beware he does walk fast.

Rudy still has a lot of love to give and will always make you smile! He will even smile back at you when he is excited! He is not mischievous, and he is really a great family dog.

Bio Update 2/15/24: Rudy is such a sweetheart! He barks a lot, but his foster mom is working with him on it. He is 13 pounds and still needs to lose a pound or 2. He loves going on walks, but he is a fast walker. He is a sock stealer and likes hard teething bones. He is getting more and more playful as he gets more comfortable in his foster home. He thinks he is a tiny lapdog and follows his foster mom everywhere. He doesn't seem to care about other animals, but he is used to being the only dog in his previous home. He does not like sharing the attention with his foster brother. He does well with kids.

Rudy's bloodwork came back and he has very high BUN & Creatine levels. He has been placed on subcutaneous fluids once a week for 4 weeks and is now on a prescription renal diet. This does explain his constant accidents inside. His foster mom has been using belly bands, and he has been doing better with going potty outside. He hasn't been able to have his dental yet. Per the vet, his labs need to be more stabilized first. He will need a dental before he is ready for adoption.

Requirements for his forever home:

Fenced in backyard, someone who is home with him most of the time - retired or work from home, someone who can keep up with his fast walking (he is a man on a mission when walking and loves exploring outside), and a home with no other dogs.

Updated Bio: 2/4/24: Rudy is a 7 year old, 13 pound yorkie whose owner passed away recently. He loves going on walks and is always on his foster family's laps or laying in a nearby dog bed. He doesn't know how to play with toys or go up steps. He can be yappy at times and tends to bark at his reflection in the mirror. Rudy is not 100% potty trained, but his foster mom is working with him on it.

Rudy would do best in a home where he is the only dog and at least one family member is retired or works from home. He loves to run around, and his forever home needs to have a fenced in backyard or be an active family who will frequently take him on long walks. He does well around kids 10 and up. Rudy is not ready for adoption due to needing a dental and is awaiting bloodwork results from his vet check.

Initial Bio 01/28/2024: Meet sweet Rudy. He has just come into rescue after his parents were not able to care for him. We can not wait to see his personality when he gets all the settled into his new foster home. Stay tuned for updates!

To date we've spent $4379 on Rudy's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $1603 in donations.

Kentucky
Winston

Winston is a 12 year old (estimated) Yorkie boy who weighs 5lbs and is being fostered near Elizabethtown, KY.

THANK YOU TO WINSTON'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta, Thomas Warner, Elaine Dowden, Tammy Hermanson

Update (05/10/24): Winston went to the dentist recently for a cleaning. Sadly, he lost his remaining six teeth. He has mastered the art of eating soft food. He is still energetic and cuddly. He will bond with whoever spends the most time with him. He gets along with other dogs, but he needs to be the primary dog. Winston and the foster brothers will try to assert dominance over their person. There has been some snapping and nipping. Foster mom and dad have decided to watch him when he goes into the fenced-in yard. We are still not certain we have all the tiny places covered!

Winston is the sweetest little guy. He just loves to cuddle.

Updated Bio 3/16/24

Winston is a 5 lb boy who showed up at a kind man's house, matted and covered with feces and urine. This kind man took Winston into his home. He had Winston groomed and tried to find his owner. This kind man did all he could for Winston, but he was unable to keep this adorable pup as he worked many long hours away from home.

Winston is a sweet 10-12 year boy. He loves to shadow his person, and he is a lap hugger. He loves all the attention that is given to him. He is a clever little guy, who showed his foster family the holes in the fence. Winston has a little pep and energy to him. He does well with the other dogs, but is more of a one-person pet.

Initial bio 3/7/24

Winston has just came into rescue stay tuned as we get to know him better for updates.

To date we've spent $901.04 on Winston 's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $603.07 in donations.

Oliver
Rhode Island
Oliver RI

Meet Oliver, a handsome 9 year old, 16 pound Yorkie Mix boy being fostered in Rhode Island. Only Rhode Island applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO OLIVER'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Jennifer Hamilton, Kathleen Gaertner, Lauren Satterfield, Shawn Hudson, Debra Frare, Stephanie Slack, Yvette Vangeloff, Wendy Henry, Cheryl Scrupski, Sandy Pagnotta, Dan Clauser, Wendy Henry, Cari Peckham, Wendy Henry

Update 5/6/24: I have wonderful news to report! The oral/nasal Fistula that needed to be repaired for a second time was canceled! The Vet lady was amazed and had all her colleagues poking around and it had totally healed over. I guess my healing mojo kicked in :-).

I’m still my mellow self; FM has not heard me bark yet but I do whine about an hour before it’s time to eat, my favorite part of the day and I just can’t help myself. I enjoy the treat puzzles, belly rubs and wandering around the yard. I do well on a leash for short walks. I’d be a great couch companion for some Netflix or hangout on the deck when we get some warm weather with a good book. If you are looking for a super companion, I'm your man/pup!

Update 3/24/24: Its Spring in Rhode Island, and although the weather is fickle, I enjoy being able to roam about the yard and enjoy walks in the neighborhood on really nice days.

I had a dental done and a fistula repair, unfortunately the repair did not heal properly and I have to have it repaired again in 2 weeks.

FM says Im very easy going, eating is my very favorite part of the day, and occasionally Ill steal my Foster sisters Antler for a little chew.

I get along with FMs pack; Im pretty quiet, no barking so I would do well in an apartment, however Im NOT able to go up and down stairs. Im looking for a soft bed and someone that needs a companion to come home to, oh and Im a really good listener.

Initial Bio 1-2-24: Hi, I'm Oliver. My family had to make a difficult decision to surrender me to United Yorkie Rescue, so I traveled from Maryland to Rhode Island. I'm with my Foster family and their pack. The first few days have been confusing but I get to have homemade food, treats and plenty of pats. FM says I'm so mellow and I haven't even barked one time, even when the rest of her pack bark.

I go to the Vet for a full check up and updated vaccination on 1/10/24 but this Friday I have a Spa Day. After that, well share a Glam shot of me. I'm sure I will look very handsome!

To date we've spent $2124.01 on Oliver RI's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $615 in donations.

Cindi
Texas
Cindi

Meet Cindi, a very 11-12 year old, 4 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO CINDI'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta, Pam Roberts, Carol Nelson, Cheryl Scrupski, Yvette Vangeloff, Kammie Tipton

Update 5/15/24: It's me, Cindi Cinderella. I'm still looking for my castle with my king and or queen so I can become the princess that I deserve to be for the rest of my life I just know you're out there and I am a patient mature little lady that just wants to become your furever Princess.

I have opened up a lot more here as I become more comfortable and I approach foster mom so she'll scratch my belly because that's my favorite thing. I rarely bark and it's usually because I want attention from you. I will kind of do a happy dance by your feet so you'll pick me up and put me where you are and so you can rub my tummy. But if you start rubbing I might not let you quit.

Even though I don't have any toofers and they don't make doggie dentures my tongue hangs out of my mouth. I can eat soft food and small kibble really good and I'm always a hungry girl. I can take treats out of your hand, but you have to show it to me with an open palm so I can use my tongue to grab it from you. Once I get to know you and I'm comfortable with you i will just know you're gonna love me fur furever. I will open up slowly and become the bestest princess ever.

I use potty pads inside but occasionally I will have an accident. I do like to go outside to potty and do my number two. I like to explore the backyard at my own pace. I will let you know when I want to come in because I'll go by the back door and just wait patiently. I don't play with toys so you won't have to buy me any. I do like my choice of soft doggy beds though. I'll fall asleep in one and then I'll go and be like Goldilocks and test all of them out for a little bit of the night.

Being a mature little gal,(I weigh less than 5 pounds) I am getting those old doggy warts and bumps and lumps on my body which are to be are to be expected. I do have a right dry eye so I take a drop of medicine for that once a day. The eyedrops last a long time, so it doesn't cost a lot monthly to give that to me. I also am on medication for a mild collapsing trachea. This is also controlled by medication, which is not very costly. Like most mature folks, I do have a little alopecia on my back, so I like to wear clothes to stay warm.

So this is what I want in my new castle with my future pawsitively favorite king and or queen.

Lots of nice, cozy, fluffy beds, and warm blankets because I like to nest.

Tasty, healthy food that can be wet or dry or a combination because I usually will eat anything and everything all up. I love all treats, but they need to be broken up in small pieces. My favorite are the Milk Bone mini dog biscuits broken in half. I'm really cute when I eat my treats.

Some cutesy clothes to keep me warm and make me feel and look like your princess.

A backyard is not required. I cannot do stairs.

A gentle small buddy(s) would be nice but not required as I don't like to play, but I do like to watch everybody else play.

I've been spayed, I have my very own microchip, I am heartworm negative and I am up-to-date on all my shots. Ouch.

Most of all, I would love to have all of your attention, and all the luving and belly rubs that you'll give me fur furever.

I am pawsitively sure my king and or queen is out there somewhere and will find me to bring me home to their castle so I can live the rest of my life happily with them.

Could you be my king, could you be my queen, or could you be a king and queen together which means you'll have a lot more love to give me cuz I got a whole lotta love to give right back to you.

You will find a direct link to my application at the bottom of my biography. If you have any questions about me, please contact my Foster Pawrent at stickhors@gmail.com

Until next time,

Love Cindi Cinderella

Initial Bio 4/2/24: Please meet precious Cindi. Cindi, lovingly named from "Cinderella", is a mere 4lbs and 11-12 yrs of age. She was found by a wonderful lady who searched for weeks for her owner. Sadly, this was all a dead-end as Cindi's microchip was never registered, and no one ever answered the ads in the Lost and Found or area shelters. Luckily though she will get her Cinderella as the finder reached out to our rescue.

Cindi came to us as a hot mess. She was severely matted and her eyes were in such a horrible condition with ulcers on both eyes and a condition called dry eye. Not to mention, Cindi's skin and coat were so dirty and her nails that were painfully long. Although she has spent the better part of a week at the vet getting treatment for her eyes, she is otherwise very healthy and her blood work looks great. She will revisit the vet this week for a follow up with her eyes and has an appointment already setup for a spa day! She did receive a medicated bath and luckily, the vet was able to cut away most of her matting without losing all of her coat. The staff said she loves to snuggle and give kisses and I can assure you she is all full of love!

As you can see with her prior hot mess of a coat, she will just be so gorgeous with that coat!! Cindi is now in the arms of her loving foster momma and dad and is absolutely just as sweet as they come. If you think you could offer Cindi the furever home this little Cinderella deserves, please complete the application below. Feel free to email foster for any info you might need at stickhors@gmail.com.

Cotton
Texas
Cotton

Meet Cotton, a 6 month old Maltese boy who weighs 8 pounds. He is being fostered in McKinney, TX. Cotton's adoption fee is $1000. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO COTTON'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta, Angie Cagle, DeAnn Deutsch, Carol Gostomski

THANK YOU TO COTTON'S FACEBOOK DONORS!

Crystal Dicosola, Greg Cremer, Karry Rogers, Roxanne Hart, Lucy Hall, Ginger Diane Mills, Dave Scharfenberg

04/21/24 Update: Howdy howdy folks it's Cotton the one eyed bandit back are you ready for my pupdate?

So I have been here at Stickhorse Ranch for a little bit. I have decompressed totally. My eye is all healed up. I don't even think I miss that eye because I sure get around perfectly. I love to play with my foster brother and sister here. I really like being outside, especially with the weather getting nice. I like to explore the backyard and play chase and tag with all the other pups here.

Since I've been here I've gained the weight that I should have on me. I now weigh 13 1/2 pounds. I am a little food piggy but that's probably because I was on my own for a while. I will clean up everybody's bowl if they haven't finished their meals, so foster mom has to keep a close eye on me and all the other doggy bowls. I like any and all treats, and I take them really gently from you. I do like to play with the other foster dogs here but I also can play by myself by tossing my toys up in the air. I really like Nyla bones and those crinkly noisy toys.

I do not like thunderstorms, lightning, rain, and getting my feet wet. I am almost potty trained, but I do have an accident every now and again. I am not a snuggly dog or a kissy dog but I do like to sleep in doggy beds or by you in the big peoples bed. Foster mom says the only bad habit I do have is I like to chew the beauty bark that's out in the yard and I will bark when I see the Amazon driver or any other type of delivery person walk by the door and let them know I'm here to protect the house.

Foster mom says I'm a really happy go lucky guy, considering my circumstances on how I got here. I sure wish I could be able to tell everybody what had happened to me before but I guess there's no Dr. Doolittle's around anymore.

So let's update my list on what I would like to have in my new home with my new furmily.

A stay at home, parent to continue with my potty and other training, because I am pretty smart I probably can learn tricks and commands very easily.

No kids under 10.

A very secure backyard is a big bonus.

NO CHAIN LINK FENCES.

If you have another dog about my size that likes to play, that would be pawsome. I could also be a single dog in your home too.

Lots of toys, especially Nyla type and those toys that make the crinkly noises.

Comfy, dog beds, and people beds.

Lots and lots of love.

A big can of training treats.

Good nutritional food for my meals. I eat both kibble and soft.

So if you think you can satisfy all my needs and wants, please submit an application for me and there is a direct link below to do that. If you have any questions, you can reach my foster mom with them at stickhors@gmail.com

UYR helps so many Littles and we count on our family, friends, Facebook and social media buddies for contributions to help us help others that need help (like me). If you find it in your heart and budget to help us out, there is a PayPal link below for your donations. You can always share my story with your friends also if you're unable to donate as the more shares I get there always could pawsibly be someone out there who can help us with donations that allows us to help other littles that desperately needs our help and UYR will always help as many as they can as long as we have Foster homes for them.

Thank you, until my next biography,

Cotton

Update 1/28/24: Hey there everybody in United Yorkie Rescue Land. Foster Mom said that I needed to update my biography and let you know what has been going on in my life. If youve read my initial biography (which is below this biography) you know that I was in pretty rough shape when UYR came to my rescue. Although UYR mostly deals with Yorkies, they just couldnt leave me behind suffering. Since being picked up all my health issues have been addressed. My eye was taken out, Ive been spayed, microchipped and have had all my shots at Austin Animal Services the first week of January.

On January 11th I moved north to McKinney to my new Foster home. January 18th, I went to see a new Dogter to get my eye stitches removed and he said that I healed up fabulously. So now its time to get serious about finding my furever home.

Let me tell you a little about what my Foster Pawrents have figured out about me. The Dogter in Austin thinks I am around 6 months old and that I am probably a Maltese. I am a beautiful white boy weighing in at just around 9 lbs. I get along with all the other puppers here, but I want to play more than they do. Luckily I can also play by myself with my toys. I like to move my toys around and wrestle with the doggie beds here. I am not totally housetrained but am working on that every day. I love food so much but maybe that could be because I was on my own for a while. I enjoy exploring the back yard with my sniffer. I also will bark when I see someone walk by the front window and at strange noises I do not recognize. I have free range of my foster home and they let me sleep wherever I want to. I like to test out all the doggie beds, just like Goldilocks but I usually end up sleeping close to my foster hoomans. I am all puppy so I would like a stay at home Pawrent especially since I am so young and will need continued training. Because I am such a little guy if you have children they need to be at least 12 years old and know how to behave towards puppies. A secure fenced yard would be a bonus but absolutely NO CHAIN LINK FENCES only because of the terrible predators Texas has and some of those creatures can climb chain link fences. My foster hoomans are still learning about me so more details about me and my personality will be in my next bio.

So this is what I am searching for so far but that may change in the future.

A stay at home parent to continue with my potty training and other training cuz I am pretty smart and bet I will learn tricks and commands easily.

No kids under 12.

Secure fenced yard is a bonus.

No chain link fences.

If you have a fur dog about my size I would like that but it is not a deal breaker.

No apartments please as I am a barker at this time.

Lots of toys.

Comfy beds and your bed would be my first choice.

An abundance of love.

Some healthy tasty food and I love dry kibble.

Great yummy treats especially training treats.

I am not a fan of crates.

I am not a big kisser.

I will become a Velcro buddy.

So if you think you can satisfy my needs and wants please submit an application for me and there is a direct link below to do that. If you have any questions you can reach my FM at stickhors@gmail.com with them.

Initial Bio 1/9/24: Cotton is a 6 month old male Maltese that weighs 8 lbs. Cotton was brought into the Austin animal shelter last week as a stray in horrible condition. He was severely matted, covered in his own feces and urine, infested with fleas, with his left eye ruptured, protruding and bleeding. He was also dehydrated and very thin. Even though Cotton is not a Yorkie, when UYR Texas team members saw his pitiful photo on the shelter's daily intake list we contacted the shelter to see if we could help him. While at the shelter Cotton underwent surgery to have his ruptured eye removed and he was neutered at the same time, they also relieved him of most of his matted fur and all of those awful fleas. United Yorkie Rescue was there to pick him up as soon as he was approved to be released from the shelter and we took him straight to our vets office to be checked out. He is up to date on all shots and surprisingly appears to be in overall good health. Cotton is still in the process of healing from his eye surgery and we are still getting to know him, however we do know that he is a sweet little guy that is full of life and has lots of energy. He loves to play with toys and his temporary fosters believe that he would really enjoy having another younger energetic dog to play with.

Please stay tuned for updates as we get to know this sweet little guy better.

Kasi
Texas
Kasi

We would like to introduce one of UYRs newest and cutest additions. Meet Kasi, an 8.5 pound, 5 year old Yorkie girl being fostered in Leander, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO KASI'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta, April Alvarez, Sandy Pagnotta

Update 5/15/24: Hello UYR friends and family. We just wanted to give you a quick update about our sweet Kasi. Kasi underwent surgery last week to complete a dental, spay, and to remove the growths in her ears. The ear surgery ended up being more extensive than expected however Kasi is healing very well and her hearing has already improved. She had a check up yesterday and the doctor says that her ears are looking great! Kasi's fosters say that she is a very good girl and is just as sweet as can be. She has already slimmed down a little due to her new lower fat diet. Meal times are still her favorite part of the day. Please stay tuned as we will keep you updated about Kasi's progress as she continues to heal.

Initial Bio 4/29/24: Kasi started out life as a breeder baby however after she lost her first two litters the breeder gave her away to an elderly woman. Over the years Kasi's owner only took her to the vet twice and at the last visit she was told that Kasi needed ear ablation of both ears due to chronic untreated ear infections. Since the owner could not afford the surgery, the vet recommended euthanasia. Kasi's owner thankfully declined the vet's recommendation and took her to the Humane Society to surrender her. Like many shelters these days they were at capacity so they reached out to a UYR fostering member who immediately picked her up. And that was the day that Kasi's luck changed for the better. After a visit to one of UYR's wonderful vets, Kasi is now undergoing treatment for those nasty ear infections and will go back for a follow up appointment in a few weeks to see if surgery will be required or not. Kasi also is a little overweight for her tiny frame at 8.5 lbs so we will work on getting her down to a healthy weight. Her fosters are still getting to know her however say that she is just as sweet as can be and appears to be 100% potty trained. Homes with children under 12 will not be considered to adopt. We will keep you updated about this sweet baby-faced girl. If you would like to make a donation towards her care please click the donate now button. Thank you!

To date we've spent $0 on Kasi's vet bills, but with your support we've collected $145 in donations.
Please donate!

Koby
Texas
Koby TX

Meet Koby, a handsome 3 year old, 9 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Azle, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO KOBY'S RESCUE ANGELS!

David and Diana Lavine

Initial Bio 5/19/24: Meet UYR's Koby. He is a 9 pound 3 year old Yorkie. You may wonder how this precious boy came into rescue. He was an owner surrender at the local animal shelter. The surrendering owner wanted this baby euthanized - yes, you read that correctly EUTHANIZED!!! The intake sheet for this boy showed he was aggressive and attacking the humans in the house. A fellow yorkie lover contacted UYR and asked us to help this boy. UYR contacted one of their volunteers and asked her to assess this boy at the shelter and report back. With treats in hand, the UYR volunteer went to the shelter and immediately knew this baby was not aggressive but was neglected and possibly abused in his prior "home".

Within minutes Koby was in the volunteer's lap (now foster mom) and ready to go home. Koby gets along with all of foster mom's dogs, big and small. He just wants to be held and loved. He is taking a little longer to adjust to foster dad, which is very telling about his former home life. Foster dad is patient with him and feeding him treats and slowly, Koby is warming up. A home with someone who has a LOT of love and attention to give to Koby is what this boy needs. He will not go to a home with small children. Koby wants to sit in your lap and stay close to his human. He will go to the vet soon and a date will be scheduled for a neuter. He is otherwise healthy! Koby may take some time to warm up to the men in your home so patience and a firm but loving hand will be key to his success. He has a lot of puppy behaviors and would love walks and lots of play time. If you think you have the perfect home for this boy, please to go UYR.us and fill out an application. Foster mom will be looking for someone that wants to give a lot of love and affection to this boy.

Max T
Texas
Max T

Meet Max T, a handsome 3 year old, 5 pound Parti Yorkie being fostered in McKinner, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO MAX T'S RESCUE ANGELS!

David and Diana Lavine

PUPDATE 05/17/2023 It's about time, it's about space, it's about time to find my place!

Max T reporting to you. I've got a Lotta nicknames. I get called Maximilian, Maxi, and Mad Max(from the movie).

I've been here at Stickhorse Ranch for exactly 4 weeks today May 17th. I am a Breeder surrender little one. In the first week I went to the dogter and lost my boy parts, got a micro chip, and got up-to-date on all my necessary vaccinations. I also got a dental and lost a few teeth and speaking about teeth, I have no bottom front teeth. This was probably caused by living in a chain-link concrete kennel, because I was given no toys I probably chewed on the chain-link as something to do because of boredom to the point of losing my teeth. This is fairly common for Breeder surrender pups because that's all they're used for. In case you're curious I will eat both wet canned food and dry kibble with no problem at all. Everything I get is such a treat these days verses that dried cheap kibble tossed in my kennel. The pups that come from backyard breeders usually get no socialization, never go see a dogter for anything and are fed the cheapest food possible. They are only let out of the kennel to go visit a girl pup so they can do the monkey dance, and then they go back to their very own kennel. I have never ever been groomed, so foster mom is trying to cut out the tangles and to the point where she feels comfortable taking me to the groomers. We are slowly getting them cut out. I will be even cuter when I get my little spa day scheduled.

I am slowly approaching foster mom as I feel more comfortable here. She will put her hand out and I will go slowly up to her and give her a little kiss and then I'll back away and wag my tail and sometimes I go back and do it, and sometimes we do Pete, and repeat. I am not potty trained, but we are working on that. I do not like a harness and leash right now because I've never seen them or had them on me so my future Pawrent will have to continue with the training of walking with a leash. You will always have to use a harness on me, because of causing possible collapsing trachea. This usually happens when you just put a collar on me and the leash and you jerk the leash around, pulling it up against my trachea, which is very susceptible to damage.

I love to play with all the other foster dogs and the residential dog here especially Cotton. We wrestle a lot inside the house but when we go outside we play tag we are too fast for foster mom to get a video of us. I am learning how to play with toys, and my favorites right now are the Nyla bones.

So here's a list of things I want and need in my furever home.

*NO chain-link fences. A fenced backyard would be pawsitively pawfect.

*A friend to play with would be pawsome 15 pounds or less.

*Future Pawrents will need lots of patience and realize that there will be lots of training in the future for me. A plus would be if my Pawrent(s) are retired or work from home.

*No children under the age of 12.

*Lots of wonderful, healthy dog food. It can come from a can or it can be dry kibble or it can be a mix of the both because that's what I get here. I've heard homemade dog food is most excellent and very yummy.

My needs and wants are fairly simple. I may be three years old and weigh a whopping 5 pounds but I am still a puppy and will always look like a puppy fur furever. Foster mom thinks I am a pretty smart dog with what she sees of me coming out of my breeder surrender shell. She believes that once I become a "real dog," I will most likely be really smart, and that I can learn tricks and commands pretty easy.

Do you think you could be my future Pawrents? I am so ready to find my furever home. If you have any questions, you can reach my foster mom at stickhors@gmail.com

Also, below the full biography, you will find a direct link for my adoption application. Please make sure you read the instructions on how to fill it out.

Last, but not least if you have a little extra pocket money, maybe you could think about donating to United Yorkie rescue. They have taken in so many seniors that have not had vetting in many years, owner surrenders, stray, pups and breeder surrenders. Each one of these pups have had to get vetted fully. Vetting cost so much these days. Your donations help us help each one of these babies. You'll find a link at the bottom of this biography, if you would like to donate any money to us. We appreciate your consideration for donating.

PS Please check out our online auction being held through Facebook on our United Yorkie Rescue page. It will start June 7 and last till June 14. We look forward to seeing you there.

Initial Bio 4/18/24: Howdy, United Yorkie Rescue family, friends and social media buddies.

I am brand new to UYR today April 18, 2024. I was just picked up so I am decompressing at Stickhorse Ranch.

I am what they call a Parti Yorkie. They say I'm about three years old and I weigh a whopping 5 pounds but when we go see the doctor, we will ask him what he thinks. Just so you know, I was used as a breeder boy because I am so handsome.

As you can see by my picture I'm a hairy little guy it's gonna take a little while to get all my knots and tangles combed out. So if you think I'm cute now wait till I get all groomed. I'm just gonna be cute as a button.

I will be seeing Foster Mom's favorite dogter as soon as possible for my neuter, check my teeth, check my ears, yada yada yada, and get a check up.

So stay tuned for my next update

See ya,

Max T.

PS: Just wait until I go to the Salon and get even handsomer.

Missy
Texas
Missy

Meet Missy, a sweet as pie 10 year old, 10 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in McKinney, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO MISSY'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Barbara Lalani, David Lavine, Sandra Knott, Barbara Burgess, Elaine Jesmer, Lauren Satterfield, David and Diana Lavine

Update 4/18/24: Hello everybody. I'm back and I can't wait to tell you everything that has happened to me in the past couple of months

First off I went to the dogter to get all checked out. So I got a full hysterectomy and a dental. I only lost one toof. I am all healthy and up to date on everything. We did discover that I am hard of hearing so I need to be approached gently. FM usually shows her hand in front of my face very slowly to let me know that she's coming to pet me. I also am a bit head shy, actually very head shy. Makes my FM think that my past was not too pleasant and that I may have been abused by being knocked around on the head. I sure wish I could talk people-talk so I could tell them what my past life was like.

So I am pawsitivly ready to find my furever furmily. I have my very own microchip in case I ever get lost. I've had all my shots. Ouch. And I had my mouth looked at too. I tested heartworm negative so now I am on Nexguard and Heartguard every month. My fecal showed no crazy wormy things in it. So I am good to go home with you.

I may be a mature girl, but I do like to play with my foster brother Cotton and act all puppyish. Sometimes he starts it but sometimes I start it. I am almost all potty trained. I let foster mom know when I got to go out by standing right in front of her and barking at her and I bark and bark and bark until I get to go out, but I usually do my business right off the bat. Sometimes I do make a boo-boo, but not too often. FM says I'm an easy girl to wash at home. I do get a little squirmy at the groomers.

It took me a while to finally relax here and I am still learning that I am safe. I just recently started to snuggle up to foster mom. I like to give her body bumps and rubs. At night time I become a sloth, and I slowly sneak my way up to her, and I lay down right next to her and sleep with her on the big person's bed. I really like that.

This is what I'd like to have for my furever home.

*Stay at home pawrents or work from home pawrents.

*A secure fenced in yard would be nice, but not a dealbreaker. NO CHAIN LINK FENCES.

*If you have another dog that would be pawsome but not truly necessary.

*No young children, because I am still very skittish.

*Apartment living would not be good for me because I do bark and my bark is very deep.

*Toys are not necessary because I'd rather play with you and love on you as I want to become your very own Velcro dog.

*Lots of good good tasty food lots of wonderful yummy treats. I haven't turned down a treat yet.

*I'd love to sleep with you in your bed but I can also sleep on the couch in the doggie bed but would love to keep you warm especially in the wintertime.

*I walk nicely on a leash. Actually foster mom says I have a very sassy walk.

So if you think you have the most pawfect pawsome home you will find a direct link for my very own application at the end of my biography. Please make sure you read the instructions on how to fill that out.

If you have any questions, you can reach out to my foster mom(she sometimes calls herself Fake Mom) cuz she know my real Mom is out there somewhere just waiting for me. Her email addy is

stickhors@gmail.com

That's all for now.

Missy signing off

PS FM calls me Miss Kissy Missy if that gives you a clue as to what I love to do the most.

Initial Bio 1/8/24: Hello to all my new friends and family in the wonderful world of United Yorkie Rescue. I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Missy and I am the one of the newer kids on the block. I just got here to Foster Mom's house at 2:00 PM on January 8th, 2024 and this is my Freedom Ride photo going to my new happy place.

Stay tuned while we all get to know each other. I will be updating my biography in just a few days with much more information about me...BUT FM can already tell that I am a sweetheart, a kissy girl and probably a Velcro Pupper. She has been calling me Miss Missy because she believes that I am a Princess in disguise. She also calls me M & M because I am sweet as candy.

Talk to you very soon and better pictures promised!

Meet Mocha, a sweet 2 year old, 11 pound Yorkie mix girl being fostered in Cedar Park, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered.

THANK YOU TO MOCHA'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta, Pam Roberts

Update 4/4/24: Happy Spring from Mocha! I'm enjoying the beautiful Spring weather of Texas Hill Country and having great times watching the butterflies and smelling all of the fresh new outdoor smells. I have a carefree and loving personality and I am told that I am a soulful little gal. The thing I like best in the whole world? Its to be in the lap of my person. I put the V in the term Velcro dog. I must warn you: I come with my own set of rules like: you will never go to the bathroom alone for the rest of your life and you will never walk from one room to another without me by your side.

I am a Yorkie mix and I'm in the 2nd month of a four month-long treatment plan to address heartworms. The vet says I'm otherwise in good health and I am working on my social skills and manners with my foster mom every day. I am protective of my family and my furever home needs to be a quiet and calm environment without children. I will do best as an only dog or with two or more other small dogs where I can settle into the pack. I am a smart young dog of school age and so I need reinforcement and instructions incorporated in my daily life. I really want to please my family, that's one way that I show my love!

I like to play with my toys every day and I will scramble after them when you toss them but I havent got the hang of bringing them back to you yet. My adoption fee is $1,000 and if youre interested, you can visit www.uyr.us and scroll to Adoption Applications; my foster mom will contact all applicants.

Initial Bio 2/20/24: Meet Mocha, a 2 year old, 11 lb Yorkie that's all sugar and no spice. She recently had puppies, but unfortunately, none of them survived, and she found herself abandoned in a shelter shortly afterwards. But UYR couldn't let this little lady languish like that. She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and has a 4 month treatment plan started already. She is now current on all vaccinations and is awaiting a spay.

If you're looking for a furry friend to brighten up your days, look no further than Mocha, the adorable Yorkie who is ready to steal your heart. She is a bundle of joy wrapped in fur, with a playful personality that will make you smile from ear to ear. THANK YOU TO SCOOTER'S RESCUE ANGELS!

Sandy Pagnotta

Update 5/10/24: Look at me, I'm ready for my furever family!!

Scooter is a sweetheart boy who loves attention. He sleeps with his foster whenever he wants to or in an open crate. It's his choice always! He has a bit of separation anxiety when mom is not home, but he does survive lol. Scooter is housetrained and uses a doggy door. He also loves the backyard. We think the perfect home for Scooter should be with someone who is retired or works from home. He is a very lovable boy and gets along with other dogs. Don’t know about cats. If interested in adopting this sweet boy, go to www.UYR.us and choose Looking for Love, then scroll to Texas. He will be a joy to have in your life.

Initial Bio 4/26/24: UYR rescued Scooter from the Killeen Animal Shelter on April 12th 2024. Scooter is chipped, neutered, partially housetrained but does use the doggy door to go outside. He loves attention, walking on a leash, minds very well and is truly a loving sweet guy. His medical checkup was really good with no severe issues. In this picture he has not been groomed yet so a new picture will be posted when that is done. He really loves to be loved. This sweet boy's tail is always wagging.

04/26/24 Update: Hello again UYR friends and family. We just wanted to give you a quick pup-date about Tilly and her brother Wolfie. Tilly and Wolfie are doing great in their foster home where they continue to be the perfect house guests. Tilly continues to shower her foster parents with love and to carefully watch over the other dogs in her foster home, always making sure everyone is okay. She truly has a heart of gold and is one of a kind. Please reach out to her fosters today if you would like to learn more about Tilly and Wolfie.

3/5/24 Update: Tilly and her brother Wolfie (a bonded pair) have been thriving in their foster home as they are patiently waiting for their new forever family to find them. Their foster parents say that they are two of the best dogs they have ever met and that whoever ends up adopting them will be VERY lucky. Tilly is as sweet as they come and has never met a stranger. She greets anyone she meets with lots of love and if given the chance lots of kisses. She likes to sleep in bed with her foster family and they say that she is an expert snuggler. If you are looking for a lap dog or cuddle buddy, Tilly is your girl. Tilly & Wolfie have been on several road trips with their fosters and they were also great travel companions.

2/3/24 Update: Tilly has completely healed from her extensive dental surgery and wow what a difference it has made in her life. Her fosters say that they can tell that she feels so much better now that her mouth is no longer in pain. Tilly's fosters say that she is very energetic, full of spunk, and LOVES to give kisses. Tilly appears to have appointed herself the role of house Mom of her foster home as she carefully watches over the other dogs in the home making sure everyone is ok at all times. Of course Tilly and her brother Wolfie share a very special bond and are never too far away from each other, and are always looking out for one another. It's very heartwarming to witness. If you think that you may have room for Tilly and her brother Wolfie in your heart and home please complete an adoption application today. Also reach out to their fosters with any questions that you may have about this sweet pair of seniors uyryorkielovetx@yahoo.com.

12/27/3 Initial Bio: Muttilda, aka Tilly, recently came into the care of UYR with her fur-brother Wolfgang, aka Wolfie under very sad circumstances. Tilly and Wolfie had a wonderful owner that loved and cared for them for over ten years. Unfortunately, their owner became unable to take care of her beloved fur-babies due to health issues. Family members contacted UYR for help with finding Tilly and Wolfie a new loving forever home. Tilly and Wolfie are a bonded pair that have been together for the past ten years and therefore will need to remain together.

Tilly is spayed and is up to date on all of her shots. However, she is in dire need of a dental cleaning and tooth extraction. She has a history of a having a heart murmur and when x-rayed by UYRs vet she had a slightly enlarged heart. After careful evaluation and consideration UYRs vet is confident that Tilly is healthy enough for dental surgery which will greatly improve her quality of life as her mouth is painfully infected. Tilly was given an antibiotic shot to help with the mouth infection and is scheduled for the much-needed dental cleaning.

Tillys foster parents say that she has been a perfect house guest so far, she is housetrained, well mannered, sweet, and just a joy to have around. She wants to be next to you at all times, loves to be pet, loves belly rubs, and may cry just a little if you stop petting her too soon. Tilly also loves to go on walks with her brother Wolfie.

So, if you happen to be looking for two fun loving, easy going, laid back, super sweet dogs that love everyone they meet, look no further than Wolfie and Tilly.

If you would like more information about Muttilda and Wolfgang please contact their fosters at UYRyorkielovetx@yahoo.com

Initial Bio 12/27/23: Wolfgang aka Wolfie

Hello and Happy New Year UYR Friends and Family. It is our pleasure to introduce you to Wolfgang aka Wolfie. Wolfie is a male yorkie that is estimated to be 12 years young and weighs 14.5 lbs. As you can see from his photos, Wolfie is a very handsome little fellow with classic yorkie good looks aka a heartbreaker. Wolfie recently came into the care of UYR with his fur-sister Muttilda aka Tilly under very sad circumstances. Wolfie and Tilly had a wonderful owner that loved and cared for them for over ten years. Unfortunately, their owner became unable to take care of her beloved fur-babies due to health issues. Family members contacted UYR for help with finding Wolfie and Tilly a new loving forever home. Wolfie and Tilly are a bonded pair that have been together for the past ten years and therefore will need to remain together.

Wolfie is neutered and up to date on all shots and is scheduled for a dental cleaning. He will also have a bump removed from his right shoulder during the dental surgery.

Wolfie has been a perfect house guest at his foster home so far, he is potty trained, very calm, very sweet, and just an overall good boy. He likes to play with toys and loves to go for walks. He also enjoys exploring the backyard and laying in the sun when the weather is just right.

So if you happen to be looking for two fun loving, easy going, laid back, super sweet dogs that love everyone they meet, look no further than Wolfie and Tilly.

If you would like more information about Wolfgang and Muttilda please contact their fosters at UYRyorkielovetx@yahoo.com

Hi everybody...it's me Mollie!

FM said that some of you have reached out to see how I was doing, so I wanted to give you all an update. It's been 9 days since I had the surgery to fix my liver and I am doing GREAT!! FM still won't let me play with the other pups because I haven't gotten my staples out yet. That been a challenge for me because after all I am a puppy, and puppies like to PLAY!! FM says that as soon as my staples come out...I get to play with the other pups and I can't wait. I'm going to turn this over to FM now and let her tell you a little more about me...

Mollie is one of the sweetest fosters I have ever had! She loves to snuggle and be wherever you are, and I mean wherever! (bathroom included) She is a quiet mellow little girl, rarely barks only sometimes when someone comes to the door and the other pups are barking. She is crate trained and will go into her crate by herself at night when I tell her it's time to go to bed. She does play with toys and really likes the ones that squeak. She LOVES to be outside and all you have to do is say the word and she will beat you to the door! She also loves to go for car rides and is a perfect lady in the car. Mollie is very friendly and will say hi to everyone when we are out on our walks. She loves other dogs and is fine with cats. She has been great with the neighborhood kids. She knows her name and listens very well. I will update her pictures as soon as her staples come out and she can have a bath.

If you are interested in learning more about Mollie, please feel free to email me! She will most likely be ready for her Furever home just in time to help you celebrate July 4th!

Hi it's me Mollie. I had my operation on Tuesday and foster mom brought me home last night. All of your prayers worked...I didn't need to have a platelet transfusion!! THANK YOU!

I'm going to keep this short because I really don't feel good at all. The surgery went well. They placed the ameroid constrictor for my liver and also spayed me so there will be no babies in my future. They have me on 5 different meds to help with my pain, prevent seizures, reduce the ammonia levels in my blood and antibiotics to prevent an infection. I know what you are thinking...that's a lot of meds. Good news is that I won't have to take them for long. I still don't really want to eat and that has FM a little worried. FM keeps telling me that I have to eat so that I can start feeling better! She called the Dr. and is waiting for a call back to see what we should do.

Please keep praying for me and I promise to give you another update in a few days when I'm feeling more like sweet self! In the meantime, if you are able to make a donation to help with my medical expenses, FM and I would appreciate it VERY much!

Hello everybody...it's me Mollie. I wanted to give you an update on what's been going on with me. First, let me say that foster mom says I am a SWEET lovebug! Notice I put the word "sweet" in all caps!! I am really easy going and love to follow foster mom everywhere (even the bathroom). I have a feeling that there is a trap door in the bathroom and foster mom might try to go outside without me. I live with 2 other yorkies and I LOVE to play with them. I even try to play with the cat that lives here too. I was a little unsure of him at first, but now I think he's pretty cool. I mind my manners and I am gentle with him even though he is bigger than me. Can you believe it, the cat is bigger than me. LOL

So, here's what's happening with my liver shunt and the surgery. I was scheduled for surgery on the 18th of this month but there were some complications. FM took me in bright and early the day of surgery, and they did all of my pre-op testing. Unfortunately, there was a problem! My blood clotting times, and platelet count were not good, and it wasn't safe to proceed with my surgery that day. The Dr sent my blood out to a different lab for special testing to see what our next steps were going to be and if it would be safe to proceed with my operation. There is a chance that I will need to have a platelet transfusion to help with my clotting. That sure doesn't sound like fun to me! In the meantime, they have put me on some medications, and we are hopeful these will help.

I am now scheduled for my operation tomorrow 4/23 as long as my pre-op blood work is ok. If it's still off then we will have to proceed with the platelet transfer prior to surgery. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I need lots and lots of positive vibes sent my way!! If everything goes according to plan and we can proceed with my operation, the Dr thinks I will be ready for my furever home in about 6-8 weeks. I know you really want me now, but I promise I am worth the wait!!

FM and I would really appreciate it if you could make a donation towards my medical care!

Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks is a sweet Maltese mix girl who is estimated to be 12 years old is being fostered near Clarksville,VA.

THANK YOU TO STEVIE NICKS' RESCUE ANGELS!

Angie Cagle, Sandy Pagnotta, Mathew Scott Gann

Initial Bio 4/30/24

Meet Stevie Nicks a sweet Senior girl who was found dumped in a dumpster. She is in pretty bad shape but has seen the Dogtor. Her eyes are in need of ointment twice a day we do think she has some sight but her eyes have been untreated for some time. Her ears are badly infected and full of debris. Dogtor has flushed them out and they will now be treated with drops. Her skin is also infected and now she is receiving medicated baths. Stevie has been adjusting well in her foster home and eating good and she is gaining much needed weight. Due to her previous neglect, she is scared to go outside but foster mom is working on that and helping her with potty training. She gets along well with the other dogs in the home. She sleeps in a tiny dog bed with a blanket and is a quiet little girl. Stay tuned as we continue to get to know her and we will update her progress as she starts feeling better with the medical care and good food and love she is now receiving. If you would like to donate to her care please click on the PayPal Button underneath this bio. Any questions email foster mom.
