My new mom and dad love me so much already.
Milo

12/23/21 Milo was adopted today. Milo found his perfect forever home and family. This adorable little guy came to his foster home very sad and timid. He didn't want to leave his kennel for 3 days. Slowly he learned that he could trust his foster family and came out of the crate, joined his foster brothers for meals, and quickly grew to love his foster mom and dad. Within a short time, he even started playing with toys and with the other dogs. After Milo's neuter he was ready for his forever family. Today that happened. He went to his forever home with his forever family. He has a mom and dad who will be home with him most of the time. He will be the center of their world. All the attention and love will be Milo's and he couldn't be happier. His forever mom and dad have promised to do everything for Milo, take care of all his needs no matter what they are. Milos foster parents are so happy for Milo and know he found his happily forever after for ever and ever.

Leonardo's new family is no stranger to dogs with special needs. They previously adopted a pup in need and loved and cared for him until the ripe old age of 16. Chloe

Chloe was adopted 11/29/21:

This diva has found her forever home. Join us in congratulating Chloe, and her new family.

Chloe was well loved by her previous owner, but she became unable to provide the care that Chloe needed. Chloes UYR foster mom quickly realized, that although Chloe was a sweet senior, she was still full of life. Chloe loves daily walks and enjoys spending time outside. She loves gazing out the window and tummy rubs.

Chloes new mom and dad are experienced Yorkie parents who understand the special care needed. Chloes new parents are committed to giving her all the attention that she needs to live her best life. Chloe looks forward to getting her hair brushed, playing in her new fenced-in backyard, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Tucker and his Forever Family
Tucker

11/10/2021 Tucker, the mini Schnauzer, was adopted.

Tucker came to United Yorkie Rescue when his former mom was not able to give Tucker the time and attention he needed, therefore he had not been around other dogs very often. His foster family realized that Tucker barks at people and other dogs while being leashed walked. Tucker needed a fenced yard to help him run off his energy. Because he has separation anxiety, Tucker will whine and bark when he is left behind. Thankfully, his new mommy and daddy are a stay at home mom and dad. Tucker does not like to share his people with any other fur babies. In his forever home Tucker will be the only dog and he will get all the love and cuddles he could ever want. Tucker is a precious little soul who needs attention and positivity in his life. His new parents are very devoted to helping continue to work with Tucker to help him be his best. They look forward to playing ball with him. Tucker is so excited to spend some great times in the laps of his new parents.

Bambi and her sister Babette are together again forever.
Bambi

11/6/21 Since coming into UYR, Bambi spent the majority of her days at the VCA ER clinic for tests to identify why she was having difficulty urinating. There was a fear she had a tumor, however after a CT scan, it was determined that her issue is more anatomical and perhaps learned behavior. She was discharged with medication to help her urinate and UYR covered her $4500 in expenses incurred to date.

BAMBI AND HER FUR SIBLING BABETTE ARE NOW REUNITED! During her hospitalization, United Yorkie Rescue and Saving Imperial Rescue worked together to reunite this bonded pair that were mistakenly separated at the shelter a few days earlier. After being released from the ER, Bambi was delivered to the Pico Vet Hospital in Yorba Linda where her sister Babette had undergone a dental. Bambi will be at the Saving Imperial Rescue with her sister, and the girls will be able to live out the rest of their days happily together. A member of United Yorkie Rescue has offered to pay the dental expenses that will be incurred for Bambi. A special THANK YOU to Saving Imperial Rescue for helping us to reunite the girls and sharing this adorable video: https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=368595775054634&_rdr.

HAPPY TAILS to both these sweethearts!

My forever mom and dad really love me and I really love them
Callie

11/5/21 Callie the cute little Yorkie was adopted today. This started as such a sad story for a little, sweet, senior girl. She was picked up wandering the street with no idea where she was or why she was on the street. That was only the start of Callie's sad story. When Animal Control brought her into the shelter they couldn't believe what they saw. She has a huge ulcerated and infected mammary mass that looked like it encompassed all her mammaries. Her eyes were infected, she had hair loss, and a skin infection.

The shelter started to treat her right away and called for United Yorkie Rescue to come get her as quickly as possible, and that is exactly what we did. Callie was brought to the vet soon after she arrived at her foster home. The good news was even if the mass was cancerous it hadn't spread into her lungs. Callie was started on antibiotics and eye medication. She was scheduled to have the surgery to remove the mass a few days later. The whole tumor was removed and the best news was the margins were clear. Callie got a dental and was ready for her forever home.

Today Callie went to her forever home. Her new mom and dad are so excited. They are going to take Callie everywhere they can take her. She will hardly ever be left behind. She will have a house full of doggie toys, doggie beds, and she will even get to go on bike rides in her special dog bike basket. Callie will become a world traveler when she goes with her mom and dad to Connecticut on an airplane. They have promised Calle a life full of of love, cuddles, kindness, and care. Callie's foster mom and dad know they are going to miss this sweet girl, but that's okay.Today her forever life started and it really will be a happily forever after for little Callie.

This is the best forever home ever. I am so lucky.

I know I am going to love it here. I am ready for my walk now.
Kelani

10/26/21 Cute Kelani was adopted today. Kelani was rescued from an area shelter. Kelani's previous owner had brought her into the shelter to have her euthanized. The shelter immediately reached out to UYR to see if we would take this sweet girl into our Foster Care Program. Of course we said YES! They saw no reason to euthanize a young, healthy, sweet dog and neither did we.

It didn't take Kelani's foster mom to know she is one smart pup. She was house trained, loved car rides, and walked very nicely on a leash. She was fine getting a bath, which she really needed when she came to us. Kelani is a good eater, she even enjoys fruits and veggies. Kelani gets along great with the two other fur girls in her foster home, and is friendly with people. She loves everyone she met and everyone who meets her loves her right back.

Kelani's foster mom knew Kelani needed a home with at least one stay at home mom or dad. She enjoyed walking as well as hanging out in the fenced backyard. She loved attention but was good at sharing with another dog or two. Today Kelani found her perfect forever home. She has a stay at home mom who likes to take walks, a fur sister, and even a fenced backyard. Kelani has it all. Her best life began today. We know Kelani is one lucky girl, her happily ever after has arrived.

I have a new mommy. She sure loves me a lot.
Bella

10/18/21 Beautiful Bella was adopted today. Bella was picked up off the streets covered in fleas and ticks. In fact the ticks were so bad she actually had no use of her back legs due to tick paralysis. The shelter immediately gave her a Capstar. They watched the fleas die and fall off by the hundreds. They also picked off tick after tick after tick. Bella had to be shaved way down on her back. Once she was shaved you could see many scabs and some wounds caused by the parasites as well as from life on the streets. At the shelter Bella was vaccinated and given a heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

Bella being so small and so scared the shelter knew she needed to be out of there quickly. When United Yorkie Rescue went to get her out walked this beautiful little Yorkie. Once the ticks were gone so was the paralysis and once the fleas and ticks were gone she felt like a different, much happier dog. Bella was a sweet, wonderful, happy little girl who thrived in her foster home. She did so well her foster mom knew she deserved the most wonderful forever home. Today that happened. She will be the only pup in her new mom's life. Bella's foster mom knew that Bella liked to run out the door if given the opportunity. Lucky for Bella, her new forever home has a great yard with a fence. Now she can run all she wants and still be safe. Bella will get to have long walks, go for rides in the golf cart, and if she wants to go for a swim she can do that too. Bella will have a wonderful life in her new forever home with her new forever mommy.

I am smiling because I have a perfect mommy and a perfect forever home. I am so lucky
Max

10/17/21 Max was adopted today. Hooray for Max. It took a while, but Max found his perfect forever home and his perfect mommy.

This is what Max had to say about how lucky he is-- I have a mommy who will be with me all day long. There will be no one else for her to give her attention to but me. I am the luckiest guy in the world. My mommy understands that I have some kidney problems and she is going to be sure I stay on my right diet and feed me exactly what I need to eat. She promised to take me on good walks and play with me. Best of all she will give me love and hugs and kisses and so many cuddles every day. Hooray for me.

We are so happy for Max. He truly found his happily ever after forever

Me and my brother are going to be together forever. Hooray
Otto (and Fritz)

10/17/21 Otto and his best friend and brother Fritz were adopted together today. They were so sad when their first mommy died. These guys didn't know what would happen to them. Then the best thing ever happened. They were adopted together. Now they will be together forever in their wonderful new home. They have a new mommy and daddy. Their mommy and daddy will be home lots and lots of the time to be with them. There is a great fenced yard, lots of toys, and walks. They will get to have lots of fun together all day and then get to sleep with their mom and dad in their bed at night. But the best thing of all is that they will have each other. They can't wait for their happy days to begin and never end. Happy Tails, boys.

I am a heahtlyt puppy now. I am going to my forever home.
Ava Simone

10/13/21 It took a long time from the day Ava Simone came to us from California to today when she went to her perfect forever home. But today it happened. When Ava came to us, no one knew what exactly was wrong with her. This little 6 month old puppy was having seizures, sometimes a few minutes of blindness, and at times an unsteady gait.

Ava saw the specialist who suspected a possible liver shunt but wasn't sure. Her levels to show a shunt were high but not what is usually seen in a liver shunt puppy. Ava Simone was to continue with her strict diet of the proper food, as well as medication 3 times a day for seizures, as well as medication usually given to dogs with liver shunts, and some other meds to help with chronic diarrhea.

After several tests and an exploratory surgery we still had no answers about Ava's medical problems. The specialist suggested to Ava's foster mom to slowly taper down the food and medication very slowly one at a time. And to also taper down the dose of each slowly. This took several months, but we had an answer. Ava Simone was a healthy dog. It was suggested she had a reaction to something when she was very young and very small and it took that long for it to leave her body. Ava could be adopted.

Ava now has a perfect forever home. There is a wonderful fenced yard that a young dog can run around in to work off all that puppy energy. She has some fur friends to play with and lots of toys. She gets to go on walks, go to the beach, and sleep in the big bed with her new mom and dad.

Ava Simone's mom and dad will be home with her most of the day so all the attention she loves will be hers. It took several months, but Ava Simone is finally healthy and has her forever home for her life.

Lily and new family
Lily TX

10/12/21: Lily has found her forever home! It took a little time and patience, but she knew as soon as she walked through the door. Lily's new parents lost a very special pup a while ago and have been waiting for a new family member once the pain had left their hearts. When they read Lily's profile, they just knew that she was "the one". See. Lily loves to play, but she is very submissive and gentle. Well new mom and dad had just the answer to keep her entertained without the fear of injury of a larger dog. Enter Oliver the rescue cat! Oliver immediately walked up to Lily on the home visit and began to play with her. Emoji Lily was a little confused at first, but is now chasing and playing with Oliver until both are too tired to run. And then they sleep next to one another before getting up and starting all over again.

Lily's new parents have experience with rescue pups and cats, and even worked at the well known Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego, CA. It only took a few seconds before they were hopelessly in love with Lily. And Lily with them. Foster mom and dad will miss her dearly, but are so comforted that she is truly where she belongs.

Happy Tails, Lily!

Oliver has a forever home
Oliver

10/11/21: Happily Oliver has found his forever home with his foster family who understands him and has a secure yard to keep him safe. Here is what Oliver's foster mom had to say for his final bio:

Oliver has been with us about a month now. He was supposed to be an escape artist but I haven't had any problems with him trying to escape. He is very curious about things outside so I have to assume he was left outside by himself too much. He really is a velcro dog & doesn't like being alone. He wants attention all the time & has to be close to his people. He really isn't interested in other pups. He however has a barking war with Louie that lives on one side of us & with Charlie that lives on the other side of us. When they are outside barking he is like a wind up dog running from side to side barking through the fence. For a dog that will be 13 in a couple of months he has lots of energy. He acts much younger. He had a fatty tumor removed from his chest & it has healed nicely. He seems to be pretty healthy otherwise. I think for the most part he is happy to have been rescued so he doesn't have to run the streets looking for attention.

Bucky

10/04/2021: Bucky was a very beloved dog in his previous owners home where he was spoiled and pampered, but due to circumstances beyond the owners control, she could no longer care for Bucky. Once Bucky became a UYR dog, he was a delightful little fella in his foster home and thoroughly enjoyed the big fenced-in yard.

Bucky has been adopted into a wonderful home where he will be the only pet in the home which he will love since he will get all the attention. He has a big fenced yard to play in and can even go to work with his forever mom! How sweet is that? Have a happy life little one!

My forever home is the best home ever.
Riley

9/21/21 Tiny little Riley was adopted today. Riley found himself in rescue when his owners work hours made him spend too much time alone in his crate. Riley was scared and sad when he arrived at his foster moms home. He didnt want foster mom to pick him up. He was very timid, scared of thunderstorms and loud noises. His foster mom wanted to see him come out of his shell and be a happy boy. Soon enough that happened, and Riley was ready for his forever home.

Riley went to his new home over the weekend. He rode nicely in the car with his new Yorkie brother and Yorkie sister. He now twirls with excitement when you say outside and show him a leash. He kisses your hand while you are leashing up his new siblings, stands perfectly still while you harness him up and then twirls his way out the door. It is his happy dance. His new sister has been trying so hard to get Riley to play with her. His foster parents are starting to see a glimmer of play. He has begun to bark joyfully when they run around together. His new parents are home with him all day, and Riley loves all that attention. Puppy love and puppy happiness are becoming a way of life for this sweet boy.
