HAPPY TAILS

At United Yorkie Rescue we are blessed with an extraordinary success rate in finding forever homes for our rescued foster dogs. To share this joy we've created this "Happy Tails" page. Happy Tails is devoted to the celebration of these wonderful stories with everyone who loves dogs. We hope that you enjoy these "Tails" as much as we have. Thank you!!

Kipton

Kipton and new mom
Kipton

Update 05/06/13: I have always had a love for animals. The unconditional love and devotion they give absolutely amazes me. Nothing is better than walking in the door and having the joy of my fur babies greeting me with wet kisses and hugs.

I was fortunate four years ago and was given two male Yorkies by a dear friend who needed a home for them. They were litter mates. My love for this breed has grown over the years as I just can't get enough.

I just happened to be following the puppy mill rescue stories and landed on the United Yorkie Rescue site. As I scrolled down through the pictures of the adorable pups, I came upon a little senior boy whose bio just broke my heart. I read the bio over and over again and got choked up each time I read it. When I woke up the next morning, I knew what I had to do...go get Kipton!!!

This little boy is so special that loving him is not very hard to do. I can see the love in his big eyes when he looks at me. It only took a couple of days for my little guy to know that he was mine. His kindred spirit and strong determination is such a welcome addition to my family. I so look forward to spoiling him and giving him the love that he so truly deserves! I am again blessed that I was given another little angel who has melted my heart. Love you little Kipton!!

Cooper and new family
Cooper

Cooper has been adopted. This is such a bitter sweet thing for me. After spending over 6 weeks with that little guy, holding him for hours, both before and after surgery, I became so very attached to him!! I wasn't sure if I would EVER find a family worthy of this wonderful little guy, or if I should adopt him myself. I asked for a sign and low and behold, the next morning I got a call from Donna and she said that they had decided to apply to adopt Cooper!! (We had been talking about him for several weeks) I know in my heart, this is a perfect match!!!

I am so excited to introduce Cooper's new furever family!!! Cooper has been adopted by Donna and Bob Whitted and also now has 2 Yorkie fursisters, a Chi furbrother and also 2 furcat sisters!!!! All of Cooper's furfamily are also rescue dogs and cats. When I first met Donna, she was inquiring about Cooper and very interested in adopting him when he was all healed and ready for his furever family. Then Donna found out about a Pit Mix momma and 7 babies that were living in terrible conditions and needed rescue. I was happy to make a call to a rescue friend and that call resulted in a rescue accepting the whole Pit Mix family. Donna was diligent in making sure the transportation and all aspects of the rescue came off without hitch. At that time, I knew in my heart, Donna and Bob were the family that should become Cooper's new family. It's just a perk for me that Donna and I have become friends and she only lives about 11 miles from me!!! I'll get to see Cooper and watch him grow up!!! I just love happy endings!!!

Bijou with new dad
Bijou

This email came from Bijou to her foster mom and dad (Bijou's Foster Dad's Father adopted her....... Her new owner Paul likes to think of her still as his son and future daughter-in-law's dog... and that he's the grandpa. The French word for Grandfather is Pepere - Pep for short. Of course, Paul knows she's all his and wouldn't trade her for all the money in the world). :)

"Hi Mom & Dad - We're doing just fine here in Westport. Pep takes me with him just about EVERYPLACE !! Maybe it's the cute haircut you gave me...but people are CONSTANTLY falling in love with me. Pep can really get me going - kinda like Papa Luke did.(and that's OK with me) I'm getting plenty of exercise but Pep is being a little (over) protective about me jumping (particularly off of beds) so he has hassocks in place so that I can make it onto and off of beds without much problem. He's a good Pep (but a real softy at times) - I just have to look at him a certain way and he MELTS ! (In fact, sometimes I think he boo hoos ...just because he loves me so much) I'm learning french !! I come when he says "Vien" ... I sit when he says "Assis" ... he uses the word "Dehor" when it's time to go out. The part that bugs me a little is that he even asks me to pee 'on command' - he uses the word "Fait" which means 'DO' - and just to make HIM happy....I try to pee (or poo) when he uses the Fait word.

I love visiting patients with Pep. He's a caring nurse but to tell you the truth....I think his patients are enjoying me more than Nurse Pep (but don't tell him I told you that) I still visit the room that you guys stayed in while you were here at camp. In fact Pep and I use that bed for play-time. I LOVE the sound it makes when I scratch the bed-spread...and...I think I can still pick up your scent. (Which I do miss!!) Pep showers me with kisses throughout the day (and night) - I think 'maybe' I'm the "little girl" in his life !!

Anyways...time to go. Just wanted to "check-in" and say hello. I'll NEVER be able to REALLY express just how grateful I am for "saving me" - You guys are just the BEST foster parents any pooch could ever have. I'm so glad I got to stay in the family. And...when people say that I'm a lucky dog....I just stay quiet and think to myself...Pep is the REAL lucky one. He keeps referring to me as his "little BLESSING"

Love you guys. Kiss each other for me. Bijou

p.s. I want you to know how excited we all are here in Westport regarding the wedding - but I hope you can continue the ministry with United Yorkie Rescue. They NEED good couples like MY foster mom & dad !! You're the BEST !!

Louie hits the jackpot
Louie

Louie has the perfect forever family. After a long search to find the right

family, and enough time to help Louie work through some behaviors, he

has been able to adjust well to his new environment very well.

I spent sometime with him and his family tonight, and was very pleased to

see how happy everyone is with each other.
